Phillip Reed over at BattleGrip.com has started an all-new Kickstarter for a hard cover book collecting scattered thoughts on the action figure marketing of the eighties. Inside this book are sections discussing pack-in catalogs, how the cardbacks were used to promote other toys, commercials, and more!

Each Sold Separately is 9-inches by 6-inches tall. A full-color book that was designed from the start as a hardcover, this is the first in (hopefully) a new series of books of the same physical format.

I have to say, this book really grabs my attention. I love the idea behind this, and think it is something that deserves to be in not only MY library of toy books, but EVERY toy collector as the work being put into this by Phillip is amazing!

I suggest you head over to the Kickstarter page by clicking the image BELOW and back this one! It’s going to be a fun book!

About the author

Jason Devall has been reviewing toys for the better part of a decade. Through the constant changes and obstacles in his life one thing remained constant, his love for toys. This insane love and his unique kookiness gave him the drive to co-create That New Toy Smell and The Pop Culture Network. He has reviewed hundreds of toys from dozens of companies. From masculine toys to, um, not-so-masculine toys, Devall has timelessly put himself aside to review what the people want. Devall also happens to love anything Disney…and Muppets. Yes…don’t forget the Muppets.
