First of the High-End Collectible Fashion Doll Line Based on the 1980s Animated Series Available at the 2012 Comic-Con International in San Diego
Integrity Toys, Inc., under license from Hasbro, Inc., today announced a brand-new series of high-end collectible fashion dolls based on the 1980â€™s ground breaking animated series JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS, launching at 2012 Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Inspired by the â€œtruly outrageousâ€ characters created by Hasbro over two decades ago and cherished by fans and collectors alike ever since, this nostalgic retro doll line is designed to pay homage to both the animated series and its original companion doll line, originally marketed from 1985 to 1987. Created for fans by fans of the rock â€˜n shock pink haired pop-culture icon and her outrageous world, this classic commemorative line will feature the high-end details, quality accessories and ultra-limited edition sizes that fans of Integrity Toys have come to appreciate through the years.
This first doll in this exciting commemorative collection will be JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS Special Edition Doll: HOLLYWOOD JEM, one of the most requested animated-based looks.Â This doll will be available for purchase at the HasbroToyShop booth #3329 during Comic-Con International in San Diego at an approximate retail price of $125 and following the convention, atÂ www.HasbroToyShop.com.
The dolls, created by noted collectible manufacturer Integrity Toys, will mark the debut of a newly sculpted fully articulated body and likeness of the rock star wearing a high-end costume, delivered in collector grade packaging. Future additions to the line will be announced in the months following Comic-Con International in San Diego via a dedicated web page located atÂ http://integritytoys.com/jemandtheholograms, which has been created to bring fans all the latest information about the Classic JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS collectible line moving forward.

Hey gang, Devall here. This is something I don’t do, but I thought I would give you my thoughts on these pictures and the press release.
What is apparent at first glance is the crew at Integrity have a lot of love for this character. The design and look of Jem here is amazing!
My only true issue with the figure is that her face looks a little too serious for the character. But that is where the issue ends with me.
The price point may scare some fans off. A high end collectible line based on a beloved character that hasn’t seen a revival since her end in ’87 may seem like a strange way for Hasbro to attempt to re-launch this franchise. I know just since the press release hit a LOT of people have been very vocal about being on the fence about the 125.00 price point.
I think she will sell well at SDCC in a couple of weeks. But beyond that, depending on who they release and how, the sales MAY be limited to JUST hardcore fans. Especially at that price point. I have some high hopes. I KNOW the doll collecting community loves these characters and the vintage line as much as the hardcore Jem fans, and the doll collectors are a ravenous as ANY hard core action figure collector. Just look at what The Tonner Doll Company has managed to do in the last handful of years with their releases. They are almost always sell-outs within the first few weeks.
I suppose we will all wait with baited breath and cross our fingers. But with Jemcon 2012 in a few months in St. Louis, I think these release will have more than enough sales to continue going. If they are doing limited runs like the Tonner stuff, there is NO reason why they shouldn’t sell out and create an instant collectible as well as make more than enough revenue to keep going!
All I know is, it’s about time Synergy!
